Death Cab Yeasayer remix

Hey friends! So I was immediately intrigued when I stumbled upon this as I love Yeasayer and Death Cab for Cutie. I was also intrigued as I would not think to put these two in the same category, Death Cab often going after the melancholy, indie rhythms and Yeasayer going for more experimental and psychedelic sound.

The beginning starts out and I'm wondering "okay is this going to work?" Then it picks up with some nice violins and the beat starts in and it begins to win me over. The parts where the rhythms pick up as Ben Gibbard sings are the parts I dig more. Who knows, maybe this mix will grow on me more through more listens. Anywho, to listen for yourself, click here.

New Death Cab, My Morning Jacket

Death Cab for Cutie's Codes and Keys and My Morning Jacket's Circuital both drop next Tuesday, and both are currently streaming in their entirety on NPR's "First Listen." What's more, they've each recorded an edition of VH1's "Storytellers": Death Cab's will air this Friday; MMJ's next Friday. I've always enjoyed "Storytellers," and I'm surprised and pleased that it still exists and that they're getting good acts for it.

New Death Cab for Cutie video

It's a very simple video, but I think it works well with the song, which is a simple song. Check it out.

Holiday Hash - Love and Presidents

I know there is an anti-Valentine's day movement astir, but I for one could never hate a day that revolves largely around chocolate and treating yourself to nice things (or being treated by others as the case may or may not be). And since V-day falls this year on the same weekend as Presidents' Day, it makes it a lovely three day weekend for everyone. So I post these songs in honor of this weekend that I hope you all find a way to enjoy, whether you're single or not.

Back to work

Sorry for my sporadic updating, but I was on vacation and celebrating the holiday/my birthday, so hopefully you can forgive me. Yesterday I flew back to NY and my flight was delayed 4 hours. I didn't end up getting home until about 1:30am. The four 4 hour wait at the airport would've been fine too if I could've accessed Wi-Fi or something from the airport because I could've gotten some work done (like updating this blog). But no. Wi-Fi at the Minneapolis airport (at least the smaller terminal that I was at) costs like $8. How ridiculous is that? And today I had a very busy, rather long day at the office. Lots of work to catch up on. So thus I am updating rather late. My apologies.

Fitting with my frustration with traveling:

Information Travels Faster [mp3] - Death Cab for Cutie - "The Photo Album" (iTunes)

Wait, Wait, Wait [mp3] - The Format - "Interventions and Lullabies" (iTunes)

Anyway, now I'm back in NY and life should hopefully get somewhat back to normal - though I have a busy next few weeks ahead of me. But I will try to update every day, as per usual. Tata dahlings.
