While I think playing in a cookie monster costume and pink gorilla costume is maybe a little too gimmicky for my taste and distracts from the quality of the music, I have to say I'm impressed with what I've seen from Xylopholks. Check out this YouTube video - I don't think I've ever seen such fast xylophone playing (and the bass player is pretty darn quick too). Definitely some talent behind those costumes. You NYC readers can check them out live on Saturday (Aug. 15th) at Drom, where they're having a fundraising party for an India tour in the Spring of 2010.
