Open Happiness

Coca-Cola's latest marketing campaign is "Open Happiness," and in late January of this year it was announced at the MIDEM International Music Market and Conference in Cannes that a track would be released featuring a collaboration amongst several artists. Those artists include Cee-Lo (of Gnarles Barkley), Travis McCoy (Gym Class Heroes), Brendon Urie (Panic At the Disco), Patrick Stump (Fall Out Boy), Janelle Monae and the infamous Butch Walker. The track itself is uplifting and perfectly produced, but it sounds like it's trying to be the perfect blend of Train, Switchfoot and The Newsboys, leading me to wonder why Coca-Cola set out to recruit big-name musicians in this era of trying to be the first to highlight unknown sounds. At any rate, enjoy the song now before it becomes "that commercial song," cause it's rather decent when its not being used as a tactic to make you feel thirsty.
