If you'll excuse the pun, I am literally kicking myself for not hearing about The Kickdrums sooner. The debut album of the duo of Alex Fitts and Matt Penttila came out earlier this year, entitled Just A Game. Banked on a hip-hop background, the album is full of well-produced hip-hop elements, but twisted in are rich orchestral strings, bright piano, electric piano, alternative rock themes and well-crafted lyrics and melodies. Certain songs have a Gorillaz influence, others more of Radiohead. I'm really digging this album, so I highly recommend you take a listen below.
