International Finds: Patrick and Eugene

Normally I don't like covers, especially when they're pretty darn similar to the original. However, I do tend to like covers when an artist takes a song in a completely different direction. Like this cover of Kylie Minogue's "Can't Get You Outta My Head," by UK duo Patrick and Eugene. Though this cover is from their old album, which I haven't heard in its entirety, in listening to their album The Birds and The Bees, they remind me of this other UK-sounding band (who was actually from Canada) known for being a bit silly and ultra-poppy: Simon & Milo / Prozzäk. In fact, the biggest thing these two groups have in common is that their music just makes you want to smile. It's so cheery. So cheery, in fact, it might make you puke. Like Prozac.* No just kidding. Really, though, this undeniably peppy, poppy, silly music will put you in a good mood, just about no matter what.

*Disclaimer: I know nothing about Prozac and so I have no idea if it makes people puke or not.

Prozac makes me REALLY nauseous on an empty stomach.
