By now you may be aware that the Parisian group Phoenix is coming out with another album entitled Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix on May 26th, and my goodness has it received love from the blogosphere - and rightfully so. Phoenix has evolved to such a great state over the years that they were asked to play a third song on SNL, a request that's only been offered to the likes of McCartney, U2, and Coldplay. Although the album is kept short and sweet - its 37 minutes long - it contains infectious hooks, buzzing synths, sharp beats and energetic vocals. "1901" is the popular song selection at the moment, but I think Lisztomania is the more appropriate choice to introduce people to Phoenix and this smart album, plus who doesn't love a little shout-out to Franz Liszt?
